Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia will introduce the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport next month. The SUV, which is derived from the Triton and also has the DNA of the Pajero –a popular large SUV in the Malaysian market in the 1990s – is a 3-row 7-seater model which will most likely have a 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine and perhaps also the option of a 3.2-litre powerplant.
The model made its global debut in Moscow last year and has since received positive response in the markets it has been introduced in. Praises have been given to exceptional handling, engine performance, futuristic exterior styling and comfort of a luxury SUV, according to Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
“Standing tall in the midst of the legendary Mitsubishi Pajero and the stylish Mitsubishi Outlander, the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is set to take on the thrill of both on-road cruising and off-road pursuits. Drawing inspiration from Mitsubishi Motors’ long history of success in the toughest rallies, the new Pajero Sport features dynamic and sporty exterior lines, complemented by a wide array of performance, control and safety technologies,” said Keizo Ono, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
Full specifications and equipment for the Pajero Sport are not provided at this time but the company has given the estimated price at RM170,000. Bookings can be made at authorised Mitsubishi Motors dealers from April 2 2009. Visit the Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia website to locate a dealer near you.
